Sensory Integration - Information Book
This Information Booklet is for parents, therapists, children and educators who would like to find out more about sensory integration.
Parents of children with sensory integration problems face difficult and challenging questions. They need to know what sensory intergration is, how problems with sensory integration will affect their child, if these problems will continue throughout their child's life and if there is treatment available.
Some parents may not know that their child has sensory integration problems, but know that their child struggles with learning to write or co-ordinate their movements which seems out of line with their intellectual ability. Other children display disruptive behaviours, although they have been well nurtured by their families. Sometimes the above difficulties are as a result of poor sensory integration.
The purpose of this book is to encourage increased awareness and knowledge of sensory integration and to highlight the importance of child-centred therapy.
