Survey of Provision for Children with Dyspraxia-DCD in the Republic of Ireland

This study gives essential information about children with dyspraxia/DCD.

The results of this 2006 study indicate that parents are concerned with diagnostic procedures, follow-up advisory and support services, and the general level of awareness within schools of the nature of Dyspraxia/DCD.

This study has provided the first database on children with Dyspraxia/DCD in the Republic of Ireland and on their parents experiences of, and opinions on, the advisory and therapeutic recommendations arising directly from its findings.

These have direct implications for Dyspraxia/DCD Ireland, the Department of health, Education and Science, the teacher training colleges and the National Council for Special Education.
